Teen Girl Dies In Sleep From 'Useless' HPV Shot

A teenager from Vienna, Austria, reportedly died in her sleep Tuesday weeks after receiving the second shot of the Human Papillomavirus Infection (HPV) vaccination, a new documentary claims. The documentary, titled "Sacrificial Virgins," argues that the HPV vaccine may be "useless" and that the likelihood that the STI and cancer are correlated is slim.

Jasmin Soriat, 19, allegedly suffered neurological symptoms after intaking the second dosage. Soriat also suffered respiratory failure in the following three weeks, according to the film. The three-part documentary details the purported "hundreds of documented deaths" brought on by the HPV vaccine.

"The HPV vaccine is a treatment in widespread use but its efficacy in preventing cancer is medically unproven, while unintended, adverse reactions are blighting and even ending the lives of girls and young women across the world," IRF Films, a company helmed by Immunity Resource Foundation, wrote in the film's YouTube description. "Pharmaceutical manufacturers and many health authorities are refusing to acknowledge there is a problem and the medical community is continuing to offer the vaccine."

In addition to Soriat, the documentary also touched on Ruby Shallom's experience with the vaccine. The British teenager's family claimed that she was paralyzed after receiving the shot.

"The only limb that works now is my left arm… I still go out and see my friends but the pain and fatigue makes it hard," Shallom said in the film.

Gardasil, the first HPV vaccine, was approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in 2006. Cervarix and Gardasil 9 followed soon after. The shot is typically given during the adolescent years as a preventive method before a young woman engages in sexual activity, but it can be administered after the teenage years.

The vaccine is said to be a safe and effective way of preventing cervical cancer. Side effects, like with any other form of medication, are still common with the vaccine. Common side effects may include fever, headache, fatigue, nausea, muscle pain and joint pain. Pain, redness, or swelling in the location where the shot was administered is also common.

"No one has shown that the HPV vaccine can actually reduce the rate of cervical cancer," Dr. Christain Fiala, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, said in the documentary. "On the side effects side, it is clear that we have seen a huge number of serious [and] really terrible side effects, like young girls being paralyzed and actually coming down to death. We have seen death cases subsequent to [the] HPV vaccine."

Fiala added, "As long as we have no proof that cervical cancer is caused by HPV [and] as long as we only have an association, it is fundamentally useless to vaccinate against HPV...the cancer will occur whether there is HPV or not."

Thousands of teenage girls have claimed to feel ill after receiving an HPV vaccination, including Emily Ryalls, who spoke to the Independent in 2015.

"The symptoms grew increasingly worse after the second and third injections, and I went to A&E several times with severe chest and abdominal pains as well as difficulty breathing," she said. "One time I couldn’t move anything on one side of my body. I didn't know what was happening."

The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) reported awarding 49 victims of the vaccination in the United States approximately $5.8 million in 2013, according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch.

"This new information from the government shows that the serious safety concerns about the use of Gardasil have been well-founded," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a press release. "Public health officials should stop pushing Gardasil on children."

How can we as a society prevent death and injury due to vaccines? Should vaccines that can result in death and injury be mandatory by law? What can we do to keep young women from suffering the consequences of a patriarchal government?

I think the hard part is sorting through information. Most people want to do what's right for their kid, but they put too much trust in the medical establishment. Does the film suggest why there is no significant protest about the effects of this vaccine, or are they gathering info that hasn't been collated together until now as a way of exposing who stands to gain?

I feel like it's virtually impossible to even get complete information to sort though when it comes to stuff like this. The informed part of informed consent is just missing. Many people will consent to something that is only presented as beneficial - why wouldn't they? But risks need to be honestly and clearly explained to everyone and that is something which, for whatever reason, doesn't happen or doesn't happen enough.

I've only seen part one of the film so far. It's pretty heavy and a bit hard to get through because the content is so depressing. I feel it's important to watch though. I think it is probably very difficult to make any sort of significant protest because this topic is so heated and many people will shout down legitimate concerns and gardasil-related death and injury as anti-vax hysteria. That's why it's important to spread the word. It will make a lot of people angry but it also might help people see issues like this more in the shades of grey that exist in reality, rather than in black and white. Also, I can't imagine the pain of the people and their families who've experienced this and they deserve to have their stories heard.

Yes, I watched the part you posted. I think there's the problem that dissenting voices have no credible avenue in which to be heard because of those that stand to gain, and because there's been insufficient testing done before it was rolled out. I agree that many parents with possible doubts also don't want to be written off with other types of anti vax hysteria inducers , but I think this is very clearly a serious issue that needs closer examination and it is not being responsibly handled. It's only representative of a much larger issue of irresponsibility and lack of accountability to patients in western health care systems.

Sorry, folks, but I got Gardasil at about 15 or 16, and never experienced any paralysis, and as I'm typing this sentence, am very much alive and well!

There have been countless people, men and women, whose exposure to the human papilloma virus caused their cancer. This vaccine is the best we have to prevent it right now... My generation is the "canary in the coal mine" for this vaccine, and we can only hope that a better one comes onto the market that is a little safer.

You know what's absolutely unsafe and significantly elevates your cancer risk as a female? The Pill. My aunt is a breast and cervical cancer survivor. Took birth control pills for decades, and believes that was likely the culprit. From what I've heard from professors who have nothing to gain from promoting birth control prescriptions, it's bad news if taken longer than a decade.

I think people should go into any medical treatment with full awareness of the risks, even though the worst case scenario obviously isn't going to happen to everyone. I also think it's even more important to have informed consent for treatments that are more experimental. That way people can decide whether or not they're willing to be a canary in a coal mine rather than having that potential forced on them.

Definitely. The birth control pill is associated with a lot of health risks, including things like elevated levels of copper serum. I don't think any prescription is meant for lifelong use.

This is a major subset of biomedical ethics. Incidentally, things used to be way worse 50 years ago.

Now, a big part of informed consent is the patient's age... When I was a minor, I had no consent or agency, medically, over my body and procedures performed on me. My parents made those decisions. And of course, this goes back to the plethora of vaccines I received as an infant, fresh out of my mother's womb, to ensure I wouldn't ever contract rubella or the mumps.

Please do not misunderstand me -- I am not OK with minors not being able to give consent to medical procedures/vaccines/meds they receive. All I am saying is that when I've come across Gardasil ads in magazines, it's clearly marketed towards the parents - "What if a simple shot could prevent your son or daughter from contracting HPV, and later, cancer?"

The language used in such advertisements conveys that this is a vaccine intended for minors, usually around middle or high school age. Yet, the kids get no say. Which turned out just fine for me and the rest of the 99.5% of those who've had this shot. There's many things about my future that I have to worry about when my head hits the pillow every night, but cervical cancer thankfully isn't one of them (or, likelihood went wayyy down) thanks to this shot...

But, the video serves as a glaring example of how these vaccines are not totally foolproof. It's a bit of a crapshoot.

Yeah, in the case of minors, the informed consent obviously would come from the parents.
