I think I'm posting in the wrong forum (typoc) for hair questions but I do what I want.

I'm thinking about getting a Brazilian blowout but I've heard that some people actually like wavier hair. I'm also unsure of how it will look in a month or two.

Have you had it done? I've heard horror stories but also good things. Ugh.

This is my hair on a good day. Sometimes it's a lot more frizzy.

Imo, your hair is already pretty good, so I don't think you'd improve much.
You could have chosen a subforum that is more frequented, like fluff zone or bonfire.

I have naturally curly/wavy hair and several years ago had the Brazilian Blowout and hated it! I normally blow dry my hair straight, but with the blowout, it was stick straight with no volume! You have really pretty hair, so I say save your money and avoid the BB. There's also this, which is another big turn off for me. If you want something to smooth your hair this is an excellent product! I also use it when I wear my hair curly and it really tames the frizz.

Edit: Something else to consider, the BB will also lighten your hair which I think sucks.

I had no idea what a BB was before you posted this.

But I say I love the waves in your hair, but I always liked wavy hair. It's easy to make a temporary straight style, much harder to get volume out of something straight already.

I have stupid thick, wavy hair that frizzes easily too. As much as I like straight hair from time to time, I say no unless you style your hair straight literally every single day and just want to save time in the mornings.

I had mine straightened once. It's nice to have a shiny, glass curtain of hair without any work. But as Tigerlily said, you sacrifice volume.

I have a natural wave. I don't like spending a lot of time on my hair everyday, which is why I had it straightened. I just enhance the waves now. I don't try to go dead straight. I use a good conditioner and let my hair air dry without combing it. I comb through any tangles with my fingers, so that I can preserve the nice wave action.

Also, not to be a panic merchant but I think there is/was some danger associated with the BB. Something about unacceptable levels of formaldehyde.

You didn't ask but I actually really like how your hair looks as is.

Your hair is awesome, but Brazilian blowout sounds like porn. Really torn on this one haha

I think im not going to. Ive heard stuff like tiger lily said. Also I've looked at pics of a woman who got it done (and wasn't styled at a salon) and it looked really flat.

Your hair is gorgeous just the way it is. I have extremely straight hair and I will kill for some volume and wave to my hair. :)

The grass is always greener....!

I did it. No difference. I have very thick Asian hair though. I actually want to thin it out and make it softer. For me, I think that means a perm. BBs only last 2 months so if you want to try the look you should do it.
