    Hi All,
It is recommended to take 8 hours sleep for great health. Some tips to get better sleep:
Make your bed comfortable and your room cozy and dark,
Avoid taking anything at least 30 minutes before going to bed,
    Exercise regularly,
Avoid taking naps in day timing.
Try to awake and sleep early.

    Some things that work.
    1. Go to sleep at the same time every night and get up at the same time in the morning
    2. Exercise
    3. Sleep when it's dark outside
    4. Reduce caffine especially in late afternoon and evening
    5. Ambien (occasionally would be ok)

2 - 4 hours IMO is not enough at all. Causes one to be in a constant state of sleep deprivation.

REM is the only "useful" sleep stage. Some people can train their bodies to skip the other stages and go straight into REM for short naps throughout the day and into the night, cutting many hours off their total time spent asleep without feeling exhausted while awake.

Since you have problems with sleeping more than two hours, I suggest you do some research on different sleep schedules to find out what works for you. Here is a link with more information.

Take these ideas with a grain of salt, though; sleep is still puzzling to the scientific community. Altering your pattern may or may not have detrimental effects to your overall well-being.

Totally agree..... I used to average 4 or less hours a night and take 1-2 hour naps a day for most of the last 5 or so years. Needless to say, I was a bit batshit crazy with constant anxiety, unregulated emotional responses, paranoid about people and their motives.... I seriously thought I was an unhealthy e 6 and was going a bit crazy because of it but since I have actually tried to sleep more, most of my anxiety and paranoia has literally disappeared and I have become relatively calm. Some people can manage 4 hours but I doubt most can.

Also, a lot of the literature indicates this (I did a lit review on sleep deprivation and emotion regulation).
