Interesting with you guys eating more meals, I'm actually trying to only eat at the three meals with no snacks/small meals in between. Give my body a good hormonal rest between meals.

I really fell off the wagon hard this weekend, to the extent that I'm too embarrased to write it all down (multiple eating out, all greasy food, lots of cheese, multiple ice cream....lol)

today was ok

-vector with milk
-homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing - generous slice OMGSOGOOD
-chickpea/spinach/blackberry salad again
-baby carrots and sugar snap pea pods again
-about 1/3 of a fresh-cut pineapple
-a chocolate thing (not too much, like a cadbury creme egg size but all chocolate)
-some nuts and dried fruit

now:
-rye bread with margarine, toasted
-sweet potato
-tea with honey and milk

...I really do best when I avoid restaurants completely

So, I've inputted what I've eaten so far during the day. A few things I notice... I have too much fat relative to carbohydrates and protein, and I really need to up the protein to build muscle mass with my p90x workout routine. Basically, I need another ~900 calories today, all of which must come from a carb/protein mix, with very little room for fat. Any Suggestions?

Haha sweet, looks like I've sold another one on Calorie Counter ;). What about some chicken with rice for dinner to get that lean protein and carbs? If you still need more carbs, maybe a banana for a snack-- that will up your potassium and fiber too.

I added some chicken, and did eat a banana, but still too low on the protein and potassium!

On a positive note, these changes in my eating habits which result from the use of this calculator have immensely improved my workouts. I felt soooo good after working out today, it is amazing.

Potassium is nearly impossible to get enough of, I've found. You have to eat like 10 bananas!! Spinach works well, especially if it's cooked spinach, to increase the density. Sometimes I have trouble with protein too, but usually potassium and iron are my problem areas.

I know, it's amazing how much of a difference having the right nutrients makes!!

I tried to do the calorie thing but it was really annoying so I gave up (it wanted servings in grams and I don't weigh my food so...). I'm sure it gets easier with time.

yesterday

-cheerios, milk
-went out for lunch (2 spring rolls, thai red curry lamb+ lots of rice)
-milk
-a bunch of tea biscuit-type cookies (kinda like arrowroots)
-2 pickles
-a fair bit of cheddar cheese

I think that's all....not my best day, lol.

today

-plain yogurt (3%MF), with granola (harvest crunch) and a banana
-tea with milk and 1/2 packet of brown sugar
-chickpea/spinach salad
-carrots and pea pods
-about 1/2 cup of various nuts and dried fruit
-chocolate-dipped granola bar

that's all for now....

Yesterday was not my best day, either. I did really well until the evening, when I went to dinner with my family before giving my Masters presentation. I did mainly good at dinner, but then I ate part of the cookie my husband got, and had another cookie at the presentation where refreshments were served. Then when we got home, my spouse and I were both hungry again, so we had some pizza.

Another day down and still feeling really good. Workout went very well today. Got higher with the protein, but I'm not sure if this ratio is realistic without getting a majority of my food from processed supplements. I've given up on the potassium.

Haha I know, I think potassium is impossible.

How's everyone doing? I have to admit during the down time I did not do very well... having this thread in the back of my mind to hold me accountable helps.

I maintained my average of 75% compliance up until last weekend, and then all went to hell.

So this week is going to be a bust. Next week my new habit is the practice of Hara Hachi Bu, which is essentially to eat until I'm 80% full. So I'll start back up with at least measuring my compliance then.

i try to be healthy because i like to look at my arse in the mirror.

today at lunchtime i really felt like eating something with lots of melty cheese on it. instead i had a greek salad and a bean salad.

i'd like a tiara or a hug or something now.

How about a tiara made of hugs? Surely your heroic feats would deserve the invention of such a thing!

How about R rated S&M soft porn (is that an oxymoron?) starring Jared Leto instead? I just posted that in the celebrity crush thread.

It's also good inspiration to stay on your diet. Look at Jared fucking Leto. He's 40.

he's 40?! he looks like he's 13 and rides the bus.

i've now got onion breath from the red onion in my greek salad, so i can't snog anyone right now. this would never have happened if i'd had melted cheese for lunch.

Uhh...I think he looks like he's about 28 or 30. And he's in very good shape. I take it you don't like smaller men? Is that the problem?

Eat some parsley and use mouthwash.

i'm just scared of men wielding eyeliner. they might want to talk about their feelings and childhoods and stuff. :shocking:

i have some gum, but parsley is definitely the best trick. curly leaf, not flat.
