I have a pair of cross country ski poles, and was just reading something on Scandanavians enjoying hiking with walking poles, which apparently works out the upper body as well... :thinking:

I think they had to make this up because what is the point in walking as you can't buy anything to be able to walk..? When you buy something you will feel guilty if you are not using it.

Well, actually walking poles could be really good as whatever has a dodgy knee. I have a dodgy knee and do a lot of hiking.. the poles are the difference between knee pain and enjoyment over 10 miles or so.

Oh, I see... I didn't actually read the OP. I just wanted to comment the ridiculous idea of these sticks. But yeah, for someone with knee problems it is probably great equipment. The usual way I see them used, it just seems like a joke... Well, my mistake, have to remember to read first, comment after... :doh:
