Signed a year long contract with World Martial Arts Jax yesterday, and went to my first MMA boxing/combat submission wrestling class in 3 months.

I've been eating a little better and at more reasonable times.

I'm not gonna have the time to go to MMA 4x a week b/c of law school (I'm sitting in family law as I type this, we're talking about polygamy right now... interesting).

However, I've decided to run 3 miles on the days I cant get into the gym during the week.

Weighed 218 this morning. Already 4lbs down from 221.

Disco, what's a typical class like? What sort of stuff do you do?

Congrats on the weight loss. I weighed myself yesterday, and was a bit dismayed to see I've gained 1.5 pounds since I last weighed myself a month ago. However, I guess it will just make the results more impressive when this is said and done.

Coach demonstrates details of the double leg that some students are having trouble with

Repeat double leg take down 20x for each partner

Coach demonstrates the kimura lock from guard.

Each partner does 20x kimuras (10 on each side for adv.)

Coach demonstrates failed kimura to guillotine choke

20x each (10x each side for adv.)

Coach demonstrates kimura/ failed kimura to reversal into mount

20x each (10x each side for adv.)

stand up in stagger stance shuffling back and forth. - 1 minute

punch as fast and hard as you can - 25 sec

spin as fast as you can (simulates getting hit) - 10 sec

punch as fast and hard as you can - 25 sec

recover to seza (kneeling position) and recover breathing using breathing technique.

Respects (prayer hands, slightly bowed head)

    high fives.

    End of class.

This is just one class and one of the more tame ones as far as cardio is concerned. I can do write ups for the other classes if anyone would be interested in seeing em.

That class sounds AWESOME!! I'm getting pumped just reading it! Makes me miss my cardio kickboxing class

There's some free classes they offer at the school that I might get involved in.. Also, when I start working, there's a "Nightclub Cardio" class down the road that sounds like it'd be pretty fun! So I suppose I'll be expanding my current schedule once work settles in.
