What's your morning routine?

My morning routine is to sleep in as late as possible and then cram the following things into a limited amount of time: Shower, grooming, get dressed, shove food down my throat.

I have to shower. Coffee doesn't wake me up. A shower wakes me up.

Durentu, dude, your definition of fun seriously needs some finetuning. Does the word nerd mean anything to you?

Geek Pride Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A manifesto was created to celebrate the first Geek Pride Day which included the following list of basic rights and responsibilities of geeks.[3]

Rights:
The right to be even geekier.
The right to not leave your house.
The right to not have a significant other and to be a virgin.
The right to not like football or any other sport.
The right to associate with other nerds.
The right to have few friends (or none at all).
The right to have all the geeky friends that you want.
The right to not be "in-style."
The right to be overweight and have poor eyesight.
The right to show off your geekiness.
The right to take over the world.

Responsibilities:
Be a geek, no matter what.
Try to be nerdier than anyone else.
If there is a discussion about something geeky, you must give your opinion.
Save any and all geeky things you have.
Do everything you can to show off your geeky stuff as though it were a "museum of geekiness."
Don't be a generalized geek. You must specialize in something.
Attend every nerdy movie on opening night and buy every geeky book before anyone else.
Wait in line on every opening night. If you can go in costume or at least with a related T-shirt, all the better.
Don't waste your time on anything not related to geekdom.
Befriend any person or persons bearing any physical similarities to comic book or sci-fi figures.
Try to take over the world!

Mornings are such a pain for me. Been like that since I was a tiny little kid.

Nowadays- morning routine for me- consists of:

1. Hitting snooze (least 5 times). Btw, my alarm clock plays Shania Twain- I need a soothing song to wake up to, not a blaring ring tone (that's no way to live).

2. Brush my teeth, quick shower, do my hair, the usual stuff ladies do.

3. Triscuits/fruits for breakfast while fighting traffic on the freeway- frequently maneuvering through gridlock, and passing by in the fast lane, while watching for cops when I safely ... zip through.

4. Class

5. Drive mom to work afterwards. Squeeze in exercise on the tread mill if I can.

Lastly, before I leave, I kiss the beagle goodbye.. My little buddy.

- First alarm clock goes off. I turn it off, since it's sissy.

- Second alarm clock goes "THROUGH THE GATES OF HELL!!!!!... etc" on max volume.
I get up.

- Jesus is wide awake due to the traumatic wakeup.

- Jesus takes a shower, shaves, trims the beard if needed, general grooming

- Jesus eats on hell of a breakfast. It IS the most important meal of the day.

If it's hot or if I feel like something lighter, it consists of sandwiches (often cucumber, cheese, pastrami, sliced cocktail tomatoes and sour cream. Sometimes I put eggs on them.), orange/pineapple/mango juice and an orange.

If I feel like something heavier, which I often do, I cook or warm up food. Recently there's been a high influx of tuna, rice and vegetables... I'm trying to be healthy -_- And succeeding with it! :D But I still eat good food a lot. I hate fish...

Tomorrow, I am having a day off. I think I will barbecue some pork chops outside and have a beer in the sun :)

I escape every day.

I escape from myself every day right out the front door.

The sunshine greets me, the crisp air kisses me and the footpath leads my feet until I fall into the arms of the Bakery.

And armed with a large flat white coffee and a warm wholemeal roll, I read "The Australian" newspaper in the sun.

I wish you could join me. How nice it would be if you were to come and escape with me. Leave your mind behind. And not knowing what to do, the day will unfold for you.

Just as the newspaper unfolds in front of you, and as the sparrows nibble your crumbs and people talk to you without even you asking.

But the dogs are the nicest. They take no thought for tomorrow and enjoy every scent and delicious morsel.

And like a Golden Retriever you will turn to me and ask, "What shall we do today?". And I will stroke your head and say, "I have no idea".

And off we will set without plan, a goal or a map. Each step a dance, each only a glance away - two escapees out on a spree.

Dude that was just weird bro.

Usually I hit the snooze at 7:00 AM, then feel guilty and get up anyway, forgetting to turn off the alarm clock.

I throw some kind of clothing on unless I'm already wearing some. I'm not against the idea of wearing PJs, but my husband is usually already asleep and I don't want to disturb him by turning on the light or rummaging around the pile of stuff on the floor.

I plop down in front of my computer for a few minutes and lose track of time.

I realize what time it is and start frantically waking up my sons. The daughters are already ready, one has already left for school.

Use the bathroom. Turn off alarm clock. Change into clothes I can walk to the bus stop in, if I'm not already wearing something like that.

Interrogate younger son about shoes, hoodie, backpack, etc.

Say goodbye to middle school children.

Shoo youngest son out the door.

Walk to the end of the block.

Realize we forgot something, run back into the house.

Walk to youngest son's bus stop and wait for the bus, waving at middle school children when they go by on their bus.

Watch youngest son get on bus, thank bus driver, wave at son.

Walk home.

Plop down in front of computer.

Get some breakfast.

Hang out on the computer until around ten AM.

Almost forgot: do some crunches.

Go back to bed to read and take a nap.
