Anyone have/had it? Do you know someone who does? What symptoms did you/they experience? (I'm aware the symptoms are very generic, but it's worth a shot). I did a search of TC, but the people who have it are no longer active.

I've been sick for a while and the doctors thought it was a heart and then a lung issue...neither of which it is. I went to an ENT specialist and they think it's TMJ, but I am doubtful. Also, from what I have been reading, a lot of the family doctor blood tests are 50/50; hit or miss...not very accurate. I'd like to see a specialist in my area, but not much is showing up. Any idea of who I would go to?

I've assumed you have had a tick recently.

It's too late now, but did you happen to notice a rings around the bite within 1-3 days after pulling it out?

Not that I'm aware of, but late last year I had a bulls-eye on the back of my leg. The doctor attributed it to a spider bite or a bruise from my mastiff puppy.

When I was younger I did have a tick that had burrowed into my leg. We backed him out with a lighter, but he was in there for at least 12-24 hours I'd say. From what I understand, these ticks can be as small as the period at the end of this sentence. A lot of the time, people don't even find a tick and I believe about 20-30% of people don't develop a rash/bulls-eye.

I just have this nagging feeling that it's Lyme. If it's not, that would be fantastic! But I want to make sure I get tested by someone who knows the disease. (The ELISA test the family doctors use are only 40% accurate.) The cardiologist/pulminary doctors have not spoken to us since my lungs were cleared and nothing else is getting accomplished.

Do you need help finding a specialist near you or something? If you give an approximation of where you live, someone could help you.

Sister had (has) it. She got it when she was 15 (now 25).
She had problems with swollen joints (couldn't walk for months), swollen tongue, sensitivity to sunlight, and general all-around batty sometimes. She hasn't had a flare up in a long while. Not really sure what she took or who she went to, but it was a long process before she finally got diagnosed. Can ask her info for you. Where are you?
