I heard about it from fripping on INTPC. If I had just come across it in a magazine or something I would have rolled my eyes and moved on, but since someone I consider smrt had approved of it, I figured it was worth a shot. Even so, at first I was pretty sure it was a psychological experiment to see how many fatties the author could get to drink oil if he told them they'd lose weight.

    Fripping gives good advice?!

Someone listened to Fripping's advice to find out if it was good or not?!

    This is highly surprising.

Dude. I love fripping. I pretend to worship him sometimes even!

His humor indicates that he is a smart guy, so I'm sure to tune in when he posts his annual serious post.

You know, your health has less to do with your body weight compared to your physical activity level. Go exercise and eat a more balanced diet.

Get a side job as a valet. You'll run so much, you won't even have to change your diet. You might even get paid in cash! (no taxes)
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    Fatty McFatfat.

...But seriously. ^_^ Its good to hear you at least becoming concerned on this!! My father or mother, both obese, take no steps into trying to at least substitute their current lifestyles in the attempt to lessen the severity of their weight gain. They continue to do the same things, and my worry for them follows with it each and every day. Make good on your words.

I went to the effort of converting so I could understand what 230 pounds is, really you guys should use kilograms, youd be just over 100 and sound so much lighter.

I really have nothing to add that hasnt already been said I just wanted you know I went to an effort

    I appreciate that.

For our UK readers, that's 16 stone and 6 pounds.

EDIT: I got home from work last night to see that my kids and the neighbors had whipped together a pumpkin pie contest, and they asked me to judge.

    [sigh]

UPDATE: Coincidentally, I had to get a bunch of tests updated with the company nurse today in anticipation of being trained to run a forklift. I found out that for the first time ever my blood pressure is high. It tested at 152/115.

    Now I'm getting seriously motivated.

    Two words - exercise partner.

I don't know about any Fripping diet, but an overall change is what's needed. Not just weight loss, but some exercise. Walking brisking 30 minutes is a start.

    Good luck, Oberon.
