One thing that used to work for me when I was having trouble sleeping is to take the pressure off of yourself to sleep. Lie there and relax, pay attention to your breathing, and tell yourself that it's okay if you don't fall asleep, b/c you'll still be rested in the morning. Usually if you're not thinking MUST FALL ASLEEP!, you can trick yourself into being relaxed enough to sleep naturally.
