There is PTSD, and Complex-PTSD (C-PTSD).
C-PTSD is the result of long-term exposure to damaging situations, and PTSD is more related to specific occurrences (I believe, please research to verify).

Interesting. A friend of mine has (to my knowledge) self-diagnosed herself with it now that I think about it. I had always seen it more as her OCD feeding into her major fear of abandonment. However, a lot of time disorders will feed into each other so it can be difficult to tell. Of course, Im in no way qualified to say if something does it does not exist in this realm. But, it does sound very feasible.

I'm a bit skeptical about this since it has similar to identical traits to BPD.

It may require a prequisite of an irrational anxiety of abandonment, which in itself is a situation to be analyzed, yet, if the impact of the abandonment itself is too severe, this too might create the anxiety forementioned.

I'm skeptical of most "diagnoses" that hang onto the coat tails of another disorder in order to gain name recognition in order to sell seminars.

Um...I'm not saying trauma does not exist from abandonment. I take issue with how this is being presented and I really do think cross-referencing professional DSM terminology to a group of paying listeners who may or may not have sought any help or actual diagnosis for their suffering... I don't know, it creates confusion, bias and leads to layman self-diagnosis that can be misleading and hurtful to sufferers. It's also a magnet for narcissists who want to learn about themselves surrounded by compassionate people who they can have an audience with.
