Most of psychology has been about psychopathology. And the striking thing about mbti is that it is not about psychopathology.

Most of us are unwilling to acknowledge our psychopathology and attend therapy because it is emotionally painful and an affront to our self regard.

So mbti meets our need to indulge our psychopathology without the need to feel our emotional pain.

Basically, it helps people to offer rationalizations, rationalizations help them to distance themselves from issues and they feel better.

A psychological test serving as a defense mechanism. I delight in the irony.

Carl Jung invented psychological types, and he was training to be a psychoanalyst, and part of his training was to be psychoanalysed himself. And he was lucky enough to have as his analysand Dr Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis.

Unfortunately psychoanalysis is only suitable for neurosis and is unsuitable for psychosis. And Carl Jung suffered from a psychosis. So rather than continuing with his analysis and becoming a psychoanalyst, Carl Jung picked a fight with Dr Freud, and then Jung left analysis without becoming a psychoanalyst.

And Jung transferred his father fixation from Freud to the Fuhrer and followed the orders of the Fuhrer's second in command, Reichmarshall Hermann Goering.

And just as the Americans took over the missile scientists, and the Gestapo secret service, as well as the head of the human experiment section 731 of the Japanese Empire, so the Americans took over Carl Jung and gave him a positive twist, after all, Americans love a happy ending.

And we find all this here with mbti, we come here to act out our neurosis, and we pick a fight with anyone who tries to analyse, evaluate, and integrate our neurosis. And we resent anyone who interrupts our happy ending.
