The Myth of Mental Illness

The Myth of Mental Illness: Foundations of a Theory of Personal Conduct
is a 1961 book by Thomas Szasz, in which Szasz questions psychiatry's foundations and argues against the tendency of psychiatrists to label people who are "disabled by living" as mentally ill. It received much publicity when it was published, and has become a classic, but also made Szasz an enemy of many doctors.

Now Antidepressant-Induced Chronic Depression Has a Name: Tardive Dysphoria

Three recently published papers, along with a report by a Minnesota group on health outcomes in that state, provide new reason to mull over this question: Do antidepressants worsen the long-term course of depression? As I wrote in Anatomy of an Epidemic, I believe there is convincing evidence that the drugs do just that. These latest papers add to that evidence base.

Sometimes, even when you say and think you are fine/ okay, your cell membrane retains information. You are mentally ill when you cannot control your nerves. You react as if you are living in the moment. Especially when you're in a scenario that has nothing to do with "the" experience/s. Sort of like ptsd. Also, you can't eat or sleep for days. You rarely blink, since letting your guard down is unacceptable. You cry out of the blue. You are not fully aware of their surroundings.

Mentally ill people are hilarious, I know. They make up the best friends, they're usually honest...about the silly and deep things.

Love, ñoño, your mentally ill friend.
