    Compliments that seem insincere - or are literally meant to be sarcastic. (If you can't say something nice- don't say anything at all.)
    Compliments about weight loss because it's like they are saying, "You were fatty before and now you're skinny- good job!" lol
    If there is a sincere compliment- it's always made me feel uncomfortable, but I have grown to appreciate this effort someone would make on my behalf and always strive to give a sincere, "thank you" back.

    Yes, this makes me very uneasy. I don't think it's always manipulation- sometimes I think people are just nervous and it seems like 'you can't go wrong by throwing a compliment out there' to get to know people....but it still makes me feel wary. [Possibly because there are people out there who like to be complimented thusly, and it almost offends me to get mistaken as one of them.]

    shallow ones with no effort. my room mate had to compliment me and said i was intelligent. it's like that's not a compliment because you can be intelligent and an asshole.plus i don't like her. I told her this nicely today but still managed to give a sincere compliment
