I apologize for my sarcastic comment; I was sort of annoyed about being chewed out for not being on topic. In all seriousness, perhaps you have adult ADHD. This is why psychiatry can actually be useful... people have invented stuff that's been shown to help.
Meditation also really helps with concentration. If the religious angle bothers you, just think of it as exercise for the mind. (A slightly misleading analogy, but the best one I could think of.)
