I forgive those who make a sincere apology, show remorse, and who make right whatever harm they did.
If someone is big enough to do all the above, then I have an enormous capacity to forgive.

Those who are incapable as such wind up on my shit list, which is not a very good place to be.

why is everyone talking in absolutes in this thread? isn't it entirely contextual?

i can't make a blanket statement re whether i forgive people as a rule or not, as it depends entirely on the severity of their transgression and whether they show remorse. eg if someone i broke up with emailed all my friends and colleagues intimate details of our relationship in spite i wouldn't forgive them. however, if they committed a minor social misdemeanour - like deleted my favourite recorded shows on my tele, and then told me they're sorry and gave me an 'i love you starberriezz!' hug i'd probably get over in 1 second and take them out for a falafel. even if it was 30 rock episodes. i'm cool like that.

Forgiveness is surrendering to three simple words, "I forgive you." Your heart & mind will thank you.

Forgiveness is a dish best served cold.

    Wait, nevermind.
