I am not so sure about that. She obviously is a member of a traditionalist party, but she is very secretive and, other party members complain, making her own policies, deviating from what is supposed to be the party's agenda. I like her for that.

While I think Southern culture is collectively SFJ, West Virginia (and other mountain culture, like Kentucky and western Tennessee) is much more individualistic and secretive and totally Fi. They are the authentic, barefoot hillbillies who mean what they say and say what they mean, and fuck you if you don't like it.

But there's very much an SF warmth there, and West Virginia is pretty damn laid back and easy going, almost lazy, walking barefoot in nature, that sort of thing.

It's also worth noting that West Virginia is also MUCH MORE LIBERAL than some Southern states, and there are hippie communes there.

There's almost a childlike sweetness about some of the people there...
    agreed on all counts.

i think a lot of the south is: ESFJ in the heartlands, with SFP pockets in mountainous areas and towards the coast, and NFP pockets in highly urbanized areas.

speaking of NFP, i find new york city kind of ENFPy. culture everywhere, lots of random shit, people tawk tawk tawk and they straight-up say what they mean.

    vermont - isfp
    virginia - esfj
    bama - esfj
    southern florida - esfp
san diego area california - esfp

i suspect the western areas (colorado, wyoming, montana, etc.) have more T states... it's pretty F on the east coast, at least definitely in the south.

Moved fifty posts to the off-topic post thread.

Please try to stay remotely on-topic in threads, despite the temptation.

Victor, please don't bring your anti-MBTI baggage into completely unrelated threads, as we've told you before. It's not appreciated. Start your own threads for that.

    I did stay remotely on-topic.

I still wonder if there are any studies/surveys that show any significant differences between states. I would think that any differences between whole states would be pretty small.

Keep in mind tricky states such as California. The LA/San Diego area could be ESFP, while San Francisco could be more ENFP, the Silicon Valley more INTJ, all the random rural areas more ESFJ.... and the average of the state still be the same as every other state.
