Default Type A theory finding in the news

New Risk Factor for Heart Disease: A Type D Personality - AOL Health

Suggesting that Type D is at risk for heart problems, like Type A was known to be.

Type A looks to me like the same basic thing as DISC, Social Styles and even Interaction Styles. A= DISC"D"=Choleric, B=DISC"S"=Phlegmatic in some versions; DISC"I" or Sanguine in others; C=Supine (also DISC"C"), D=DISC"C"= Melancholic.

Melancholic, like Choleric, is a low responsive or high Neurotic (Discomfort) temperament, so would figure as also having high risk for heart problems due to stress.

Funny that temperaments are dismissed by mainstream, psychology, yet Type A theory is more recognized.
    APS Profile: Inclusion: e/w=1/6 (Supine) |Control: e/w=7/3 (Choleric) |Affection: e/w=1/9 (Supine)

I don't know whether Type A theory is more recognized or if it's just fashionable. Everyone knows what Type A means, so it's easy to report on.

I always lose track of how many "Type [letter]"s there are, since it seems as though they've kept adding them.

And, yeah. Surprise! I guess we're at four temperaments under this theory, too.

Originally, it was just A and B. Then, others using the thory extended it. I remember seeing Type E and perhaps a few after that somewhere.

Also forgot to mention, my wife is Type A, yet she is ESFJ, which is Sanguine-Melancholy and not Choleric. However, it seem the EJ is what creates the Type A mindset. So it might possibly correspond to the "sociability temperaments" A: EJ, B: IP C: IP D: IJ.

It seemed everyone knew about Type A, because it was something mentioned in psychology a lot. Much moreso than MBTI type and the four temperaments.
