Surprising as it may be, spontaneity is one sign of mental health.

And remembering that one of the reasons we suppress our spontaneity, it that it is overlaid by fear and hostility. And as we reasonably suppress these negative feelings and actions, we also suppress our positive feelings as well, and so suppress our spontaneity.

So our spontaneity remains hidden from ourselves and from others.

We cured neurotic children by talking with them on the telephone because the telephone requires spontaneity.
The telephone requires spontaneity? Is the telephone self-conscious? Who talked to neurotic children on the phone? What's going on?

I was wondering if that phone magic would work on me or does it work on neurotic children exclusively?

Well, all you have to do is ring +61 04 5251 6653 and see. Not forgetting the time difference in Oz.

Spontaneity and restraint are two sides of the same coin. They are in dynamic relationship, where they play off each other, and where they enhance each other, and even make each other possible.

And it is spontaneity and emotional restraint that makes negotiating the world an exciting adventure.

Spontaneity comes with every breath and is an everlasting spring within us, while our restraint is a sign of emotional intelligence.

So spontaneity and restraint are like riding a spirited horse, they make it possible to guide the horse, and take part in the spirit of the horse.
