What is patience?

I've been trying to figure it out since yesterday, after some realization that I don't like waiting, suspense, nor being left not knowing enough. And I considered that as impatience.

And I don't really like it.

So I've been trying to figure out how I could develop patience, and ended up wandering close to philosophical border (or so I thought)

Does patience equals waiting? I understand waiting is probably one of the biggest part, but I'd like to think it's...beyond that. Beyond waiting. By some divine providence of some sort, I've developed a prolonged time of waiting, but I can't call myself patient.

That, and I've also developed a certain...mechanism. To know it all, or not at all. Whether I try to find out until I'm satisfied, or I'm detaching myself. That kinda shows my impatience, doesn't it?

So...does anyone have similar problems? How do you cope or deal with it?
and again, what is patience?
Hopefully I'm posting this in the right thread. :)
