Whoa... this is a really cool exercise.

Driving a city bus
Drained and stressed at the physical awareness I'd need to keep my concentration.

Interviewing on the telephone
Like in HR? It probably depends on how interesting the job position and the people I interviewed were.

Cleaning an office building
I'd enjoy the physical movement of the job, but feel it a bit mundane and repetitious.

Keeping inventory of a storage hall
I would get a charge out of studying the tools, methods, and data they are collecting. 1 day would be pretty neat.

Offering product samples in the mall
Miserable.

Filling candy machines
Sugar crashed.

Writing data from papers to a database
Tired and glad to be free at the end of the day.

Assembling simple products

Interesting idea!

Driving a city bus
Assuming I was actually savvy/comfortable with the technical details of actually driving the bus, I'd probably feel ok. But if I had had to deal with a lot of chaos and disruptive passengers or the like, I'd be totally stressed.

Interviewing on the telephone
Not good. Worn out.

Cleaning an office building
Perhaps ok, as it would be 8 hours of activity, at least, and I would be staying busy, and would have that time to myself without having to interact with anyone. On second thought, no, I'd feel unclean and agitated because of that, I'd want to take a shower or something. :)

Keeping inventory of a storage hall
Ok for 8 hours. But definitely bored and ancy to get out and away.

Offering product samples in the mall
Shitty. This is like a nightmare job for me. I'd be irritable, stressed, and exhausted.

Filling candy machines
Eh...ok. I assume I'd be going all over the city, staying busy, moving from place to place, so there'd be time to think and the driving time between places would break up the monotony.

Writing data from papers to a database
Fine for just 8 hrs. I've done lots of data entry in the past. Wouldn't be a big deal for just a day, but definitely bored by the end and very ancy/impatient to get away.

Assembling simple products[/QUOTE]
I dunno. Ok, maybe. It would be a hands-on activity, again I'd stay busy, so it would be fine. But no...when I read the question I was thinking of arts and crafts, haha!! ;) If this were in an industrial/factory setting, I'd be miserable.

I have much respect for those who are the backbone of our society, those who work jobs that we tend to overlook and take for granted of..

Driving a city bus
After 8 hrs. (assuming it's not an electric bus), the inhalation of smog, traffic would really give me a headache. The buzzing sound of the engine would definitely add to the general feeling of fatigue, malaise.

Interviewing on the telephone
I would need a few cups of water, as my mouth would get dry, and dealing with the "No thank yous.. I gotta run. Or take me off the list, will-ya" responses could really make me feel.. tired/hopeless.

Cleaning an office building
Windex/409/inhalation of chemicals/dust particles can really wear me down..

Keeping inventory of a storage hall
Inventory?

Offering product samples in the mall
Free samples anyone? Chicken? Beef? Care to have your hair straightened? No thanku..

Filling candy machines
Can I sneak a piece of Recess Pieces?

Writing data from papers to a database
Office work?

Assembling simple products
I can imagine how people may want to start to go postal if they're working like machines/get treated like it.

Interesting topic..

Driving a city bus
Yeah, be prepared for the Great Bus Crash of 2009, because I have the tendency to get lost in my head while driving.

Interviewing on the telephone
Shoot me now.

Cleaning an office building
Eh, boring, if no one bothered me the entire time, it might be tolerable.

Keeping inventory of a storage hall
My attention to detail is non-existent. I'd get fired after a day.

Offering product samples in the mall
People everywhere, talking, laughing, moving around me at all times while I was forced to smile and most likely wear some ridiculous outfit with frills... I'm going to have to go with 'shoot me now' again.

Filling candy machines
Dull, but again, if I wasn't bothered, I could tolerate it.

Writing data from papers to a database
I think I'd actually fall asleep on top of the keyboard.

Assembling simple products
The first twenty would go all right. The next five hundred or so would have their arms attached to where their heads should be. Repetitive tasks is just an invitation for me to retreat to my head and get myself fired.

A day in any of those would be ok, not fun but tolerable. Give me a month let alone a year at the job and I'd be miserable.

Of course, that might be the case for any job.

Driving a city bus

Pretty well, I think I would somehow enjoy this job. I would never do it as a living, since the pay is not good, but it seems quite enjoyable. I would feel really tired after a night shift.

Interviewing on the telephone

I've done this, absolutely terrible. I hate the phone.

Cleaning an office building

I'd feel okay, exhausted, however it's not good for your back, over the long term I would start aching a lot.

Keeping inventory of a storage hall

Sounds extremely boring.

Offering product samples in the mall

Sounds good, people always like it when you give them something for free with a smile on your face. 8 hours is a lot, I would get a little bit bored, but overall it would probably feel OK.

Filling candy machines

Jesus...boring!

Writing data from papers to a database

This would kill my eyes, but it's fine, especially if I can do it from home.

Assembling simple products

I've tried it, I don't like the automaton feeling.

Driving a city bus

Stressed out.

Interviewing on the telephone

Not too bad. I enjoy interviewing people.

Come to think of it, maybe I should look into that.

Cleaning an office building

Bored.

Keeping inventory of a storage hall

Like I was in the most horrible, stinking, rotten pit of Hell.

Offering product samples in the mall

Like killing myself.

Assembling simple products

Not too bad, I think. Seems kind of meditative and relaxing.

The dull repetition might get to me though, so maybe just bored.

wasted, ready to resign after a hour

Honestly one day of anything probably wouldn't bother me cause everything would be new initially I'd know it was ending so I shouldn't get bored.

Driving a city bus
Prolly get sick of traffic being in the city but I love driving large vehicles so I'd enjoy it as long as I wasn't too far behind schedule or had to deal with aggression in passengers.

Interviewing on the telephone
If my calls were bothering other people or the questions were boring and uninteresting then I wouldn't like it, if not I'd enjoy getting different reactions out of different people.

Cleaning an office building
I'd be ok with that for a day. I don't love cleaning but have helped out a friend in that capacity before, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and get a sense of accomplishment in a job well done.

Keeping inventory of a storage hall
I'd be cool with that. I'd prolly slack off though.

Offering product samples in the mall
Sounds like heaps of fun. Samples would be great, selling them would be another story.

Filling candy machines
One for you, one for me, one for you, one for...

Writing data from papers to a database
I'd be cool with that, I don't mind doing methodical things cause it means I can shut my brain off and go elsewhere.

Assembling simple products
I'd be cool with that. I'd challenge myself to get better and better each one I made, then have absolutely no desire to do it ever again.

On edge, kind of tired.
Interviewing on the telephone

Nervous, strained, exhausted.
Cleaning an office building

Normal. Depending on the size, a bit tired.
Keeping inventory of a storage hall

A bit bored. Requires me to concentrate on something uninteresting, but I could do it.
Offering product samples in the mall

Tired and embarrassed.
Filling candy machines

Normal. Unless I get to munch on some of the candy for free, then I'd feel kind of good.
Writing data from papers to a database

Listless, a bit mechanical. Not really bored, normal, or amused.

Slightly satisfied, a bit mechanical.
