Also, there's a lot of unnerving conflation of subjectivity and objectivity here. Mixing the two is fine, and normal, to some extent, so long as one doesn't start accidentally muddying the waters and believing his own perceptions to completely reflect objective reality. And I don't need to say anything about confirmation bias--the concept gets beaten to death here.

Typing other people is so, so subjective because it doesn't have as strong a basis in reality as we'd hope.
Well, the line doesn't really apply anyways at the end of the day. It's just one man's graph with one man's line to spite one ESTJ boss. (Supported by some kid's blog.) It doesn't actually change anybodies IQ.

(Edit: Oops, kind of just repeated your post, Bologna. What I meant to say was, "yeah, what he said! The muddy water stuff.")

The Thomas blog. I still don't know who Thomas is, so I'm calling him some kid.

In light of this uproaring of intelligence topics, I think I want to go join MENSA. For no other purpose than to log on here and use it as an argument. "Well I am an ESFP who joined MENSA." I may just barely make the cut. (Maybe.)

This could come in handy in other aspects of life, too.

Job interviews: "I belong to MENSA"
To someone with nicer hair: "Nice hair, but I belong to MENSA."
To any INTP: "I belong to MENSA."
To someone with more money: "Well I belong to MENSA."
Someone who makes a comment that I don't like, "you look tired.": "That's because my mind is always running with my high IQ and my high IQ society membership that keeps me busy. MENSA, I'm sure you've never heard of it."

Is there another purpose to join? This could be a fun little extra ego protection insurance. And everyone will like me better.

....I don't think you can join mensa with a 135.....

Look at that, I guess you can depending on what test you take.

Shit people must lie about their IQs a lot.

I'm not sure. I had this MENSA practice book thingee a while ago and took the test. I was on the line according to that test. You're probably right, but it's fun to think about.

"Yea, the MENSA people, they said I almost made the cut. They don't take pretty girls though."

Wait, isn't there one standardized test for the actual membership? I think that would be the only one that actually lets you in. (So, no, probably not a 135 IQ on the real thing.)

I also think they over-estimate them, having never taken an official IQ test.
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

    Qualifying Scores

I just think it is funny, because if I had a nickel for every person who has claimed to have a 140+ IQ.

I am either surrounded by the world's most genius people, or they are full of shit.

No, there are a few different tests you can take (each with different scales) that allow you admittance, so the number itself is meaningless. It depends on the test.
