You can create flow even in the most mundane of activities. I've experienced flow washing the dishes. Most often I experience it in the gym.
Where there you have too much skill you increase the challenge.
Where there is too much of a challenge you improve your skill.

Just like in a well constructed game.

Thanks for the helpful graph, wolfy.

    I'm like this now.

There was a time when I could get into a flow state with almost anything I did. But it doesn't happen anymore--I'm too distractable.

    Running

The Aymara view the past in front of them, and the future behind.
When I am running the last mile, and the pain flows from my bones to the air,
    I fly into the past
    those steps are softened
It is night, but the glistening water dazzles my eyes beneath the sun.

I close my eyes and I am neither moving nor standing still.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

    This is beautiful.

And I am listening to Henryk Górecki as I write to you.

I have joined Last.fm and bought myself a Nano iPod.

So you see, you have a large influence on me.

How lucky we are to have you here.
