Any diet effort is better than no diet effort, so if all you do is committ to eating more veggies during dinner, or cooking more meals at home instead of going out, you'll be on the right track. Start out easy, and just get more complicated. You have nothing but time when it comes to food.
This is exactly what I'm doing at the beginning. I will have some simple rules about not eating after 7pm, 1 beer a week, and no fast food. But, I don't plan on calorie counting for another month or so.
I am looking forward to using some of the recipes here. Yum!

I was really bad with my diet this weekend, but had decided in advance that I would allow it in celebration of our anniversary. And I didn't go extreme, but I did allow myself half portion desserts 4 nights in a row, and alcohol 3 nights in a row. But tonight I was happy to get back to having green soup at dinner.
