Charlie's ENTP.

I get a very strong ENFP vibe from him, his speaking style is mushy and affectionate in an EFP sort of way and he is incredibly subjective and general. the closest thing I can compare him to is a puppy that wants to play, entertain you with fun tricks and lick your face when you're feeling sad. ENTPs can be just as silly and witty as ENFPs, but their speech is usually much more precise and slightly technical.
could you explain why you think ENTP?
PS: sorry if this seems vague or overly subjective

I am  (unfortunately, lol, I would rather be straight, but it's not the worst thing in the world)
I've always thought George Clooney was a 3w2. the way he talks is very political and he's very careful not to offend anyone or do anything that might affect his reputation (which he seems to deem very important)

Also, I found this description of 7w6s and 7w8s on www.personalitynation.com. You can read the original post here: http://www.personalitynation.com/type-7/317-type-7-wings-7w6-7w8-[mindheart].html

Seven Wing Six (7w6)
Many average 7/6es are natural comedians. The sevenish desire to entertain others is enhanced by the sixish desire to be liked. Driven by sixish anxiety into wild, sevenish schemes, they can at times become panic-stricken if their impulsive plans lead them into difficulty. Sevenish gaiety is more powerful than sixish mistrust, so they might not choose their friends wisely. Unlike the power-oriented 7/8, 7/6 would rather move away from conflict than into it.

Balanced-Transcendent States
Balanced 7/6 finds a new kind of centered calmness, as impulsion and the desire to entertain begin to fall away. Instead of shifting to another mood, there is a willingness to wait and see where this one leads. The slippery, happy-go-lucky quality is replaced by a smooth feeling of attentive watchfulness. There is a kind of directed, joyful intelligence to the healthy 7/6, like a sure presence, with an unlimited attention span.

Extremely integrated 7/6 becomes the master of many talents because of fiveish perceptiveness, combined with deep fulfillment and pleasure from the experience of being fully present. 7/6 is profoundly grateful for the continuing opportunity to take part in the unfolding drama of life. What a gorgeous, unpredictably fantastic world! What incredible beauty there is in even the smallest details of this universe! How excitingly alive I feel, and how at-one with the world! Let's celebrate together the deep abundance of life and love.

Unbalanced-Unhealthy States
When 7/6 stresses, the search for ever-increasing levels of excitement and stimulation seems at first like a way out of the apparent trap of boredom and unease, but it brings only temporary relief. Maybe another kind of fun will help me avoid this increasing sense of hopeless ambivalence. Maybe I should start a new company, or have a great big party! Unbalanced 7/6 tries to find the answer in increasingly grand plans for great, exciting events.

But the ever-growing fear and boredom keep coming back, as excessive stimulation approaches dangerous levels. Without increasing awareness, this course of exciting overload leads to extreme exhaustion, and a kind of despairing depression that totally incapacitates. At the bottom of the scale of health, 7/6 becomes a worn-out husk, utterly debilitated by drugs, sexual excess, and general over-stimulation, and totally incapable of self-care. At every opportunity, every means available is used to provide some escape. Without some kind of external help, such a person may ultimately die of excess.

The Calling
Some 7/6es find work that is fun and visible. Comedians, clowns, singers, actors, travel reporters. Entertainers of many kinds. Others live more private lives as technical writers, computer engineers, event planners, PR specialists, salespeople, or various kinds of creative designers. There are 7/6 advertising consultants, pianists, chefs, talk show hosts and stage directors. Of course, 7/6es can also be found doing many other kinds of work.

Seven Wing Eight (7w8)
Average 7/8s are often aggressive and flamboyant. Seven's talkativeness and charisma combine with eight's outgoing power to create a personality that may be well-suited for starting big projects, but ill-suited for continuing them. Unlike the gentler 7/6, 7/8s are not afraid to make themselves unpopular. In fact, sometimes they seem to delight in generating shocked antipathy. 7/8 is not as careless of image as the rougher 8/7. 7/8 usually wants to be fun to look at, sometimes to colorful, elaborate extremes.

Balanced-Transcendent States
With balance, 7/8 settles down. Becoming aware of the compulsive nature of the desire for excess and learning how to moderate the constant power-trip, healthy 7/8 finds that other people are much easier to get along with when they are not being pushed or receiving a hard-sell on some wild idea. Love and appreciation for subtlety become important aspects of a life that includes increasing amounts of silent, peaceful contemplation.

Highly integrated 7/8 discovers that by letting the mind's chatter come to its own end, a new level of perception emerges, with a much greater understanding of how the world fits together. Instead of exploding outward into wildly impulsive activity, 7/8 harnesses enthusiasm for practical uses. Life becomes a joyful, loving celebration. Look how much we have been given! Jump into the beautiful universe with both feet! Find your power and become what you were meant to be!

Unbalanced-Unhealthy States
Under stress, 7/8 gets ever-wilder. When others fail to respond with enough enthusiasm to the high-pressure sales tactics, and the high of the latest exciting trip begins to wear off, it's time for the next wild ride. Maybe just a little bigger dose will do it. New ideas seem to erase old problems, and each one is bigger and better than the last one. If it doesn't work, forget it and move to the next grand scheme. You've got to try this, it's totally fantastic!

As the highs get higher, the lows scrape lower. But the miserable mornings are soon forgotten, because there's an even better high coming. What a fabulous idea I've got! All I need is a thousand bucks and you'll get it all back next week! But first, lets have an all-night party to celebrate! Very unbalanced 7/8 heads into ever-deeper entrapments, promising ever-greater rewards to those who will finance (or otherwise support) rapidly exploding levels of excessive indulgence. It all leads inevitably to the great crash, and utter dissipation. Fearfully, psychotic 7/8 withdraws into a shell of total escapist fantasy, depressed and lost in exhaustion. Possibly, the law is hot on the trail by now, and jail is not far away.

The Calling
Some 7/8s find work that combines excitement and aggression. Wrestlers, high-tech entrepreneurs, lion tamers, drug dealers, con artists, loud and wild rock stars, screaming DJs. Others are more moderate, becoming TV weather forecasters, comedians, clowns, actors, or dancers. There are 7/8 physicists, doctors, tax advisers, race car drivers, and sex therapists. Of course, 7/8s can also be found doing many other kinds of work.

I find this topic very interesting because I'm 7w8 so/sx. I'd love to hear people elaborate on this.

There is an older thread on this topic here: http://www.typologycentral.com/forums/enneagram/27064-7w8-vs-7w6-2.html

sure, the wings add differences to there core motivations. 7w6s are all about entertaining/being entertained and staying stimulated. this is your stereotypical partyboy/entertainer 7. 7w8s are all about getting what they want. unlike 7w6s, 7w8s are more choleric, ambitious and disagreeable. I can't verify this, but I think a lot of 7w8s probably mistype as another type like 8, 5 or even 1 because most 7 descriptions are much more geared toward 7w6. 7w8s are still light hearted and silly, but we tend to demand more respect because of the 8 wing.

I just posted that right after you did, but you beat me to it so I deleted it. lol
essentially comparing 7w6 and 7w8 is like comparing a comedian with a rapper or a prima donna. compare Robin Williams (7w6) with Jack Nicholson (7w8) and you'll see completely different personality types

It seems here the distinction between 7w6 and 7w8 is blurred beyond justification, I imagine people capriciously opting for one over the other due to vague lines drawn where therein lies no substance...

7w6 is gluttony combined with greed, produces a silly tone/energy

7w8 is gluttony combined with detachment, producing a bored tone/energy

Or you could swap the definitions thats how flimsy the status quo is, I guess if you want to play with a silly incomplete model that has a mechanism where you supposedly combine a central mechanism and splice it with another, which is not even done in the theory... its just pitiful. How can you actually believe the 7 has a bit of 8 in them when you don't believe its caused by the 8 adopting the appropriate crux-issue of the winged type...

By a guy who talks in virtues and sins.

What language would you choose to better describe core psychological configurations that propel a human in their many motoring drives. It is the first language that was devised for such a task, and now with its delineation into a comprehensive theory (aka the Metagram) the old language is elegant and concise enough still to allow for rapid transmission of a mental-state's-crux-description.

English is fine, I guess. But if you are indeed describing psychological configurations, mere constitutions of matter, then I would suggest a value-neutral terminology. Because if you speak of virtues and sins, people are going to merge your terms with their pre-existing concepts of virtue and sin.

Do you not believe that a term such as 'sin' carries a multitude of connotations that are, perhaps unnoticeably, being dragged into your theory? Are your 'sins' sins against god's law?

Sin is exactly what they are, perhaps misinterpreted as actions, this is the type of sin one, modally put, is attached to the heart where they displace virtue, in new-speak one could try to secularize the phenomenon as the consciousness growing attached to a certain kind of labouring, one could even call a passion, and then describe it in many words, to avoid the one word definition. But people should not feel out of place with talk of sin surrounding the Enneagram, one must of course divorce the act(which is not applicable) from the mind state, but that is implied through their presentation.

If you hold fast to the fact your dealing with mind states that a major sin and a minor sin or virtue produce a conflux that intuitively pans out into a particular energy, you can grasp what the elements must consist of naturally, I have only written out about 4 descriptions of these interactions, but please tell me you can work out how:

Major: Greed (hornding) + Minor: Gluttony (engaging) = condescension

I very much prefer the new-speak description. 'Sin', to me and probably many others, means 'something bad in thought or action (according to god's law)', which only hurts the understanding of your theory.

But people should not feel out of place with talk of sin surrounding the Enneagram, one must of course divorce the act(which is not applicable) from the mind state, but that is implied through their presentation.
Good luck.

I believe I understand the table, but its does seem very analytical in nature, that is, it only consists of definitions: A + B = C, as, in terms of construction, a house (C) is made up of walls (A) and a roof (B), and I can easily learn that from a standard lexicon (The Great Lexicon of Virtues and Sins). But my lack of understanding what you actually want from me, which I hereby confess, might have to do with my lack of knowledge of the Enneagram in general.
