1s are thoses who listen a strong inner critic and avoid their own need as much as possible to conform to rules and perfectionistic criteria. The deny their desires and that lead them to ressentment against thoeses who are not as hard on themselves to do things the right way. They deny their anger, and turn that in series of "should", "you shoulddo that because it's right" "you should'nt do that because it's wrong". You are not like that, you follow your own will, don't put duty before your own interests and don't deny your "vices" at all.

I do this, it's just not about rules. I have standards that are more subjective, based off of principle and mentality but I stil have temptation to believe things should be a certain way. that is why I am so elitist and easily disgusted and I struggle with accepting people. this is a struggle I feel I've made a lot of progress over, but it is definitely there. for instance, I have several times in the past been told "I'm just not good enough for you am I?!" and I replied "No. you're not. you don't meet my standards and I think you are pathetic"

Eh, I wasn't referring to the error in his typing, I was merely implying that he knows himself best to be his own judge with respect to his typing. Internet impressions are based on perceived behavior which may not be the case IRL, and as such may be fallacious.

I make fun of people who are false humble and self deprecating, not real humble people. making fun of them is a more palatable way to express my disgust, or else I would be a constantly complaining bitch. I certainly don't make fun of people who do the right thing, I make fun of people who think they're doing the right thing when they really are just being pathetic. for instance, someone spending all their time thinking about starving children in Africa but no time thinking about how they're going to make money (thank God for self preservation people or the world would be quite disfunctional lol).

I think Elfboy is still in the process of finding himself. This is just a tool and not meant to be taken wholly, what other's people view of you is to be taken into consideration and not as a means to an end as to your "true" type.

I can't be sure of my typing either, if I have the money I'll get my hands on Jung's psychological types.

Your decision to change your MBTI to INFP over ENFP was helpful to me, because ENFP does not correlate as well with the 6w5. Furthermore, the 6w5 rejection of help from others (they prefer to "gut it out" on their own) is an introverted trait.

But there are superficial resemblances between the 1 and 6 that can make typing difficult at first. The types at the opposite end of the circle often "resonate" in this way. Riso labels the 6w5 the "defender" and 1w9 the "idealist." When the 6w5 comes to defend an ideal, such as Christianity in your example, then he may be perceived as an idealist. But the 6w5 cannot match the 1's fanatical intensity and commitment to the ideal. The 6w5, no matter how highly he thinks of and defends his ideal of the moment, will never be at the same level of commitment and passion as an Ayn Rand or a Mahatma Gandhi. Nor will he have the same sui generis originality, or attract any followers to his cause. His defense of the ideal reflects nothing more than the intense loyalty of a type 6 follower.

I see there are no INFP's in that list of 1w9 and 1w2 sx/so at the link. In fact, there is only one p-type, and she is listed as an ISFP.

Chana's comment about Elfboy being "delusional" seems rather harsh for someone who I see as a high-level 6. He would be delusional if he was level 9 but perceived himself as level 1. But he does not come across that way at all over the internet.

I see it more as a problem of being a split MBTI type. He is ENTJ/INFP, exactly like my childhood friend who scored both ways at different times. But from what Elf has been saying, the INFP (if I may settle on that one finally) is the true core personality, while the ENTJ is a facade brought forth in dealing with various situations, such as his business and employees if he has any. He has indicated that he only allows certain people inside the facade. But he continually avoids admitting that any of this has anything to do with trusting others or feeling secure in himself. But to my mind, the very IDEA of allowing only certain people within points strongly to trust and security issues. The ENTJ shell betrays the (at least) potential for insecurity of the type. Repression, thus unawareness, of these feelings is a defense mechanism employed by the ENTJ shell type.

While I think that "denial" is a term too easily tossed out when debating with others, and therefore I avoid resorting to using it, in this case I would have to say it fits perfectly.

Edit - the ENTJ/INFP also coheres with what I previously called the Ambiverted type.
