    Lightbulb What's the Enneagram clearly?

Lately, I've evolved with the idea of personality type from the regular four letter kinds, to, the enneagram kinds.

    <number a>w<number b>

Now, I understand what 'number a' means, but I don't understand what 'number b' means. What does it mean?

"Number B," according to your example, is the "wing." Everyone has a main type, and a secondary type which is called the wing. The wing always has to be directly next to the main type. For example, you could be a 4w5 or a 4w3, but there is no such thing as a 4w8 because those points on the Enneagram are not adjacent to each other. The wing influences the main type, and there is always a wing, so it may be easier for you to think of 18 main E-types instead of 9...

    enneagraminstitue.com is a great resource.
