Enneagram Type Colors

I can't claim to fully know and understand the other types.

So if you find my input regarding 4-ness to be egocentric, rock on with your bad self.

So to me each type has a color, as follows:
1 - Gray
2 - Pink
3 - Light Green
4 - Blue
5 - Red
6 - Gold
7 - Dark Green
8 - Black
9 - Yellow

What are the colors for you?

Mine are probably:

1 - crimson
2 - white
3 - yellow
4 - blue
5 - light red
6 - pink
7 - bright green
8 - dark blue
9 - toffee brown

Most of these correspond to how I see the numbers in general, though. Only 4, which is normally black, turned into blue, and 2, which is normally bluish, turned into white. As for 1, sometimes I see it yellow and sometimes red. Individually it's red, but with 9 it's yellow.

My brother and I also associate letters, numbers, certain words MBTI type and the Enneagram, etc. with colors.
I can remember doing as earlier as at least age seven, but I know it's not quite synesthsia.
My ENFP brother is a the same way.

This is my experience, anyway. I can't discredit you're experiencing, though, Costrin.

BlackCat, you may be on to something with the right-brain relatedness. Have you ever read any thing related to cognitive function and brain lateralization?
In psychology class, we discussed synethesia. Apparently, it's somewhat related to creativity.
Also, I read a book by Lenore Thomson that says types Introverted Judgement functions and Extraverted Perception functions all occur in the right brain.
Thus you and I would automatically be right-brained. Not to say that you are wrong, but may I ask, what makes you conclude that you are left-brained?

One - Heather gray
Two - Cardinal red
Three - Navy blue
Four - Burgundy
Five - Midnight blue
Six - Dartmouth Green
Seven - Orange fruit
Eight - Black
Nine - Periwinkle

On a similar note, do you all have archetypes of each point of the Enneagram. For example, when I think of a Three, I imagine a really toned cyclist wearing sunglasses and a blue outfit. Another image is businessman in a sleek navy blue suite with his hair slicked back. The cyclist always has his mouth open with a look of deep thought on his face, while the businessman has a smile that makes him look almost untrustworthy.

Yeah, tough call. I like white for 9s because white is made up of all the colors.

But, white for 1s is good as well, because of the whole purity and untainted by blemishes angle.

So I went with white for 1s, and gray for 9s because gray is a pretty neutral color that can go well with just about any other color, but can lack pizazz on its own. Plus, white+black = gray, putting it in the center of 8 and 1.

One - deep blue
Two - yellow
Three - dark pink
Four - dark blue-purple
Five - grey/icey blue
Six - pale brown
Seven - orange
Eight - somewhat dark red
Nine - black

...These have no particular significance, but those are definitely the colors I associate with those types.

What makes you think it's 'not quite synesthesia'?

If you consistently associate the same colours with the same letters/numbers, for no learned reason that you're aware of, it's very likely associative synesthesia. It's not all that uncommon.
