Tough one! I reckon ISFX, possibly ISFJ which I'm thinking is not a popular choice. I'm fairly sure he's an introvert. And a sensor, he seems quite grounded and practical.
I've heard the Hollywood horror stories, but judging from my experience of watching him in interviews, he gives off a really amiable, warm, people-focused vibe. Very family-oriented. His Oscar's acceptance speech:
Paints a picture of his family members, rather than just listing off names. Clearly has a real deep affection for them.
ISTP seems the most popular choice, but he just seems to project so much more warmth than, say, Clint Eastwood. I know Russell has his dark side but judging from interviews, his everyday conduct leads me to think ISFX.
