Mine is a termite cathedral.
It is the image from: Emergence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote:
That is also linked to my username "ygolo," which is "ology" backwards. "ology" is the suffix meaning "the study of." This studying (for me) is analysis. But once the basic principles are known, reconstructing the orginal thing that was studied is a daunting task in itself. It is one task I find quite fascinating. It is the reverse of analysis--synthesis. Just as simple termites, with simple mound building abilities can construct a "cathedral," simple elements can be used to make amazingly complex things. "More is different."

![]() I've already explained my avatar a few times already. ![]() It's the German writer Ernst Jünger, who wrote his memoirs Storms of Steel about his combat experiences in the First World War. I just absolutely love the figure he cuts in this photo. It presents the image of a quiet, but deeply reflective gentleman - an image I can easily relate to. Jack Flak, Little Linguist, and I think a few others have noted that it fits me very much. Little especially loves it.

My INTP friend sent it to me. We joke around that he's the manatee and I'm the shark. I think it fits.
