Default Secret Reputation: A Model For Modern Society?

Wouldn't it be great if whenever you did something fantastic someone could discretely complement/insult you?

It would certainly help me know what introverts were thinking.

What's stopping them from doing it?

You could probably implement that through twitter.

A desire for reinforcement stems from a need to prevent insecurity/unpredictability.

To be honest, murkrow, the impression that I get of you is that your desire for positive feedback concerning your actions suggests uncertainty over their direction. This uncertainty needles a lack of confidence you probably protect from others, view as a sign of weakness, and work to overcompensate for its presence with an inflated sense of bravado via boisterous (singular) attention-seeking behavior. (If your RL persona is indicative of your online creation).

You're afraid of being ignored/have your ideas dismissed, then? Why?

Eventually... all those reps would become like junk mail that only the neurotic would have the time to sift through.

But you said discreetly..

I was saying, what is stopping someone from commending you for a fantastic deed?

Can you explain what you mean more by this reputation thing?
