..act serious for a while?
..relax for a while? ..calm down? ..open up a bit? ..reconsider their ideals? ..keep better record of their items? ..think before doing? ..find their inner peace? ..realize it's just money? ..shrug off a a public humiliation? I find it freakishly annoying to hear different people in here asking me to be less serious. Then again, by some accounts, ENTP don't take anything seriously So come up with your answers and find some originals, if you're on the mood

Interesting thread. I am wondering if these relate to a trait that you know you have but constantly fight? Or if it is for a trait that you don't believe you have and hate in others? For myself (INTP), I would say that it would seriously bother me if someone asked me "to be more open-minded about a subject". I am guessing it has something to do with my self perception of myself of being able to view all sides of an argument. Anyone that would question that would make me doubt myself. For my wife (ISFJ), I know that it really bothers her if I criticize her in any way so if I have an opinion about something she is doing, I have to be extra careful to make sure she doesn't take it as a personal attack. So to put it in words for this thread, it would be me saying something like...."What were you thinking?".

But in the other case, a change is assumed possible.. and even wished. In the other, the trait is not recognized.

lol I'm borderline and don't appreciate being told that. I don't usually tell people how to act. You are who you are. In fact I hate when people try and tell me how I should behave or feel about something. SJ's are great at that sort of thing that's why I try and avoid them.

I think the key issue in those statements (and why I think they may be grossly misused) is the assumption that comes with them. It's style over substance. The person's merits are dismissed, and the point is made on the style of their behavior. But, there's others. I'll compile my list

Never expect an ISFP to:
*give an opinion without being coaxed into doing so *get into a loud argument *run around at a frantic pace to get things done NOW *not try to help someone who is hurting Never ask an ISTJ to: *let go of that to-do list *stop expecting great things of self and others *forget painful things that have happened I would give a longer list for my own type if I only knew another INFJ.
