I bought a 6 pack of Witterke and I just opened one, so far so good.

When you're mentioning the crappy ones, you can't forget Old Style. I went to Wrigley last summer for the first time, and I was looking forward to trying the local brew they're always bragging about. My enthusiasm lasted about two sips.

I've only been to Chicago once, and I didn't get to try it. I enjoyed Chicago quite a bit, but they have maybe the most intrusive, nanny-state city government in the United States.

What do you plan on sampling while in Portland?

I just signed up to work a few shifts at the Holiday Ale Fest - in exchange for a free shirt, free mug, and most importantly free tokens for beer! The list of what breweries will be there is not up yet, which I find disapointing. :p Check out the site if you want - Holiday Ale Festival. If anyone is planning to be in Portland in December, the dates are the 4th through the 7th. :p

Sierra Nevada has to be one of my favorite Pale Ales! <3 *bump*
Some of my other favorite beers include - Dog Fish Head IPA, (I think I had the 60 Min, but I can't remember <3) Caldera Pale Ale (conveniently in a can for taking to the beach, rafting, etc :p ...a bit hoppier than Sierra Nevada I thought), Blackbutte Porter (Deschutes Brewing), coffee stout :p, Duvel (had it the first time a few weekends ago, and it was quite yummy).

I'm sure there are a few I'm forgetting...but whatever. :p I'm excited about trying some more imports.

when I was looking at the thread I created, I saw that a few more threads about beer had been previously created...and that made me happy. So I just thought I would give this a bump and revive it. :p

Merged "Beer," "Beer!" and "The Beer Thread" and placed in Bonfire.
