Gouden Carolus Carolus D'Or - Cuvée Van De Keizer

11% Belgium Strong Dark Ale

Extraordinarily crafted beer. Shared this one with my father last night. Predominately a wine drinker, he proudly said to me, "Noel, this is the best beer I've ever had. It tastes like a fine wine."

Hey y'all! The beers I had in PA where interesting...a Christmas raisen ale with cinnamon, which was yummy! The IPA, though, was lacking in hops (compared to the west-coast IPAs I'm used to anyway). I also had a Black and Tan, which was yummy...I've not liked Guiness the other times I've tried it.

Darkhorse brewery out of Michigan has a product called "Sapient Trip Ale" a version of a Belgian triple that rocks! I enjoy exploring the local breweries and seeing what they're up to.

New Glarus brewery in Wisconsin currently has a brew called "Alt" on the market that is quite tasty...most of their products are very well made and some are downright adventurous...The owner Dan Carey brews a series of special beers under the "unplugged" series name....always something different and enjoyable. It's a pleasure to see an owner so invested and enthusiastic in his craft...
