It was a prof on lunch break. I have Nightwork: A History of Hacks and Pranks at MIT and it's pretty much memorized.

I never heard about the crowbar part.

I have no doubts that a story of that magnitude evolved and changed as it wended its way through word of mouth before it got to my ears -- but no matter the specific details, it was still darn funny.

My list of people I most identified with (Fineline, Carebear, Noel and Rhu) have all vanished. Well...a couple of recent posts from Noel who isn't the most prolific poster anyway.
