I was sent this link by my mother as a suggested vacation place should we ever win the lottery...It's called the "Onion House." Just follow the photogallery by clicking the "Next Photograph" link on the right side.

I could quite easily spend a significant amount of time doing as little as possible at any of the following locations:
Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef Huka Lodge at Taupo in NZ Huvafen Fushi in The Maldives |

That Onion House is freaking cool. I'm already doing the math on how to make that happen. Let's see... it's cheapest in September, only $1700 a week plus the cleaning fee makes it about an even two grand, and it has three bedrooms, so three couples could share it, that's only about $700 for each couple... airfare from RDU would be about $700 each... if we don't eat all week, it could happen!

The pool at the Onion House looks amazing. http://www.onionhousehawaii.com/house14.html
I love the thought of sun baking, reading and procrastinating endlessly in Hawaii. |

Yeah Alaska definitely appeals. I also fancy the long drive from Whistler up to Alaska, stopping off in various interesting and remote places.
There are so many places and so few years in which to see them. I'm gradually OK'ing and removing places as the years go by. I'd like to go back to Poland having been there for the first time last year. Sweden last year was interesting, but I want to go to the bit with fjords... I've since crossed Indiana off my list (it's dull!) but I'd like to spend more time in Chicago if I do find myself in that part of the world again. -Geoff |
