I'm guessing your friend is an ENFP?

I am curious what it is that allows one to type guess from a picture? and if you really can do that then I should scan the school pics of my kids and put them in my blog for people to type for me.

I utterly SUCK at this typing business *sigh*

I start with hunches based on expressions, body language, and clothing. From there, it takes experience and trial and error, and it certainly isn't always reliable. INTJ females are easy to type because I know so many of them (a mystery in itself ), and ENFP is somewhat easy because that's what type my wife is. I often blurt photo-types out more out of a desire to test my guess than from confidence.

I do have an INTJ friend who I somehow mis-typed as an ENFP initially even after talking with her in person some! She's fairly balanced, so that threw me off.

Oh, by the way. I really couldn't do anything different with my facial hair other than shave it all off, I'm too yellow. I would also like to reitterate that I'm lazy.

Yes, yes they do. They could be riding the coasters with the half-loop that turns into a reverse half-corkscrew at the top etc. etc.

I'm still curious how people type their friends without the assist of a real test. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is about as accurate as pulling a type out of a hat.

Probably- I know for me, now that I've been an MBTI-enthusiast for several years, I use the terminology as shorthand for the personality traits associated with it. I know that's kind of counter to the way the theory works, though. So my informal typing is not meant to be definitive, just descriptive.

Hell, I can't even figure out my own type.
