when are we gonna get on that anyway?
damn. so far i haven't really seen a cohesive description of the picture. i have dozens of ideas, but i can't make any of them stick to the other ideas. it's probably one of those 'open to interpretation' type things. aren't those fun? i got a few questions: why is she a dear? are we so sure she's aiming at the bird? i don't think so. i think the bird just happens to be in the way. if the life of the bird and hers are mutually dependent as the banners indicate, it's not just that the bird happens to be in the way -- the artist put the bird there so the skeleton birds would make sense. they're on her antlers. which are on her head [on her mind]. probably her family. she is killing with her dead kin in mind. so she's on at revenge. she's looking at the plane, which is supposed to be her mark, but the muzzle is actually directed lower, at herself. she will hurt herself leveling revenge. so why planes? why the trees? they're very narrow. towering even. also if you notice -- only three things pass from the left side of the painting back over to the right: the barrel, and the card attached to it, and the pink line streaming from her eye. the bush at the bottom left and her hair on the right as well as the trees on both sides are inconsistent with the opposite side. it's probably just negligence on the part of the artist, but if it is deliberate, we could guess that it's actually a chain rather than a cycle. her tattoo suggests that it is in fact a loop. i'm getting bored of noticing random shit. i think the artist just had about a dozen or so ideas they wanted to put in here. i think there is no scrutable meaning. it's just a bunch of shit.

Artist's name is Chiara Bautista, she's 33 and lives in Arizona.
That pic is not the full one, this is the complete picture. ![]() You can find more of her art on her Myspace page. What can I say.. I have a knack for finding things on the net

I just messaged the artist asking her to describe exactly what is going on in that picture in her minds eye. I'll post the return message, if I get one. :P DUN, DUN, DUN...

They're more or less based off stories that Ilka would write for her.

Without reading other responses,
The hunter is the hunted. What we seek, what we are truly obsessed with- those things make us alive. They speak to our inner yearnings- dangerous yearnings, usually. Too dangerous to truly go for it, to become the object itself, at least for most people. We're still holding back. But neither can we give up the passion. So we'll keep running, a little behind. (Or you can kill it and become again just yourself.) |

It reminds me of something I heard once, I paraphrase but the idea was:
As the whole world wants peace; so it prepares for war. I think the point is that everyone wants to be safe, secure and well fed. To be safe, sercure and well fed you need dead enemies and dead prey. And while this is happening you may be an enemy and prey to some one else. So by trying to survive you've already killed yourself.
