What I'd do for impending exams is prioritize. Which exam is coming up the soonest? Which exam will I have the hardest time with? If you get your priorities straight you can make an action plan for how to study for you exams. It can be stressful I know, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

As for the future, I do that too. Which is coming sooner? Which is more important to me? Etc. I ask questions to myself.

I think that's the best way to do it, probably should get timetabling. Ironic how I'm usually so planned and cool-headed, but the moment I feel overwhelmed it's like a major panic!

I think hearing someone reassuring me that it's possible is actually the first step... It's surprising how that helps.

How can I be more assertive without being a jerk as I tend to be every now and then?

First off don't be afraid of being a jerk. After that ask a lot of questions. Lots and lots of questions. I've found the least offensive way of subjecting someone to Te is to do that. If you're trying to get information the question asking process is good, and if you're trying to tell someone something then asking them rhetorical questions tends to help get your point across too, since they get it from their answers.

If your problem can't be resolved by doing that, then first don't be afraid of being a jerk and then try to detach from the situation. You will sound a lot more rational, and you won't get as fired up emotionally. Even if you try this and suppress the urge it helps, you won't look like a jerk.

I hate to mention it, but there are some people out in the world who won't respond to you, unless you act like a jerk.

I generally take into account which class my future employers want to see a better grade in. Which is coming first is definitely a close second.
