    Original Doom.

I am open to suggestions of first-person shooters I should try based on the above.

    Let's see if I can get 10.

    10. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for PS2.
-I bought this when it came out and played through it with my best friend at the time. We took turns playing through the twisty puzzles and careful acrobatics. The story was simple elegance at its best and the atmosphere was beautiful. Too bad the sequel had do turn to that "eXtreMe" shit.

    9. Mario Kart for Nintendo 64
-So many great childhood memories playing this with all my friends. I must say that I was the best out of all of them!

    8. Mario Party for Nintendo 64
-During the summers of my youth we'd all get out of the pool and jump inside to play a round of this and then jump back into the water.

    7. Goldeneye for Nintendo 64
    -Proximity mines!!!!

    6. Sonic 3 plugged into Sonic and Knuckles for Genesis.
    -Sonic at its most epic.

    5. Super Mario 3 for NES
-The greatest Mario game. Expertly designed levels and just the right amount of difficulty.

    4. Final Fantasy 6 for SNES
-First game that ever made me cry. I became ridiculously attached to these 2-D sprites. The soundtrack is a testament to how emotive 16 bit sound could be if utilized correctly.

    3. Chrono Trigger for SNES
-The most fun I've ever had playing an RPG. The battle system, the music, the imaginative time zones, the quirky characters all come together to create perhaps the most charming game that exists.

    2. Xenogears for PSX
-I'm not sure if I would like this so much now, but as an angsty pseudo-intellectual teenager this game was God. Insane story and fantastic characters. Epic to the greatest extent.

    1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64
-This game gives the player a ridiculous sense of exploration. I would run around not doing anything....just looking at all the cool stuff. Playing through this alone, my 12 year old self would take pride in all the puzzles I solved. Playing through it with friends over, we would all get so involved in doing everything we could. I bonded with so many people over this game and it let loose my imagination.

I stopped playing video games about five years ago so I'm not up to date at all. Sands of Time was basically my last hurrah. I feel like an old grandpa now talking about the good old days of Mario on NES to younger kids. But I'm content with that......I had my fun as a console gamer once upon a time.

I dont think racing and sports belong in the same category.

Sport games bore me to tears. Racing games have a whole other feel. They're much more fun. Does anyone play Forza 2?

Here's my list. I limited myself to one installment per series so as to avoid redundancy. They're also put in no particular order, since it would take too long to sort them.

    1. Xenosaga Episode III
    2. Paper Mario
    3. Mother 3
    4. Final Fantasy IX
    5. Persona III
    6. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
    7. Chrono Cross
    8. Kingdom Hearts II
    9. Dragon Quest VIII
    10. Pokemon Silver/Gold
