The Knife - Shaking The Habitual

This band (now broken up to move on to other projects most likely) is one of the most influential electronic bands in the past decade and more. They have an implicit understanding of music, structure, and know how to bend and blur the lines of what is conventional sound while still producing something impactful and profound. Not only that, but they manage to stand on the razor thin edge of creating unease that you can't turn away from. They are true masters of art. Further, they manage to blend in modern political issues, and bring them to light without alienating or separating the vast majority of whom become aware of it.

Shaking The Habitual is truly a masterpiece.

They almost single handedly defined an entire genre. One of the most influential and flawlessly done albums of our time.

Because I can't pick just one, here are several off the top of my head:

    Flying Lotus, "You're Dead!"

    Radiohead, "Kid A"

    Pearl Jam, "Ten"

    Tool, "Lateralus"

    Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black"

Emerson, Lake and Palmer, "Brain Salad Surgery"

Neil Young On The Beach, except I'd reverse side a and b like Neil'd originally intended. Best song? They're all equally awesome.

1st Warpaint album. Best song? BILLIE HOLIDAY, maybe

Brian Eno/Daniel Lanois Apollo. Best track? An Ending (Ascent). I'd listen to this album when stepping onto a new planet.

    Can Ege Bamyasi

    Pavement Slanted and Enchanted

    Velvet Underground #3

    Love Forever Changes

    Mos Def The Ecstatic

    Talking Heads Remain In Light

John Barry Dances With Wolves original soundtrack
