Also, the women's marathon is on, I'm smashing my toes with a hammer to keep myself entertained. Why do they have to show the whole thing? I have an idea too. There should be a huge swimming pool one step past the finish line. I know I'd want to collapse into some cool water after that.

Yeah, me either; there were no doubt a billion better ones they could have picked from that night. I googled Nastia the other night and found one I really, really liked (not from the Olympics, I think).
I think the amazing thing about this picture is how HIGH she is, and how graceful she looks even at that height.

He was awesome! The commentators were *so* disappointed that he didn't seem to run as fast as he could've though (he slowed down to check on the others/start celebrating in the last 15 meters or so). But give him a break! He won the gold medal by a huge margin and still broke the world record! (I think the previous one was by him too.)
