    Default Breaking Bad

I was looking for the thread on this show and couldn't find one... and then I found a post I made last fall asking, "Why is there no thread on the forum for this show?" So I guess there is no thread, which is a shame overall.

Anyway, since the entire series is on Netflix now, and I rewatched the last few episodes of the last season, I ended up jumping back and watching again to compare. So far I've gone through Season 1 (seven episodes) and started Season 2. In the process, I noticed a lot of connection/contrast points to the end of the series that I thought were worth jotting down.

All spoilers to some degree, so I'm blocking them off.

I've been rewatching it too. 2-3 episodes a day.

I'd watch more, but I'll go insane and it will eat into my WoW time.

My original run was last winter, two weeks. I actually watched the entire 62-episode series in something around two weeks (which is an average of around four episodes a day).

But... gaaaa... Brain was fried. It's just that it was so compelling that I couldn't stop.

Going slower, and now having a basic understanding of the show, i can look for stuff I didn't notice on first pass.

Breaking Bad is an awesome show! Still my favorite! Better Call Saul, the prequel, is coming out this February!

Nico said some stuff got mixed in with the Typing thread. Maybe it's over there.

If there's a lot and I'm bored and it's easily separated, I'll move the show discussion over here but it might not be easily separated.

I know, I still find Ozymandias and Felina two of the best episodes of TV I've seen, I still don't get bored watching either of them.

@Jennifer: that was a great summary and analysis. That idea of feeling alive doing something you are good at, is something woefully lacking in too many lives.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

I finally started watching it, and have been consistently amazed by the quality of acting and writing. I see why people call it the greatest show in TV history. It's nearly flawless so far, and I'm partway into season 3.

    Thoughts so far:

    What's not to like??

    1) He's hilarious -- usually unintentionally -- and his banter with Walt is really entertaining (when Walt's not being a dick)

    2) The guy who plays him is absolutely mind-blowing

    3) His soft side is SO endearing and sweet

    4) IMO he's the real hero of the show. The moral center. The only character besides Walt Jr. who seems 100% good-hearted. Maybe the only one who's redeemable, in the end. I'm rooting for him <3

(Edit: Why I appreciate his character so much, relative to other TV characters, has to do with his character arc so far. So many trope reversals, so many unexpected surprises -- so many hidden depths to his character and how that character relates to the others. Plus, of course, the acting.)
