The belgians have dominated pretty much most of the game so far, but the ball has to end up in the goal or that doesn't matter, so who knows. Even now it can still go either way.

But I think the belgians deserve it more for this game. The americans havent been chasing the ball much at all and have been entirely dependant on trying to counter. Counters which haven't been particularly strong either.

Theeeeeeere you go! :D

Yesss...well we're following in Germany's footsteps it seems - the first minute of the extra time = score!

Nice goal.

edit: And another one. See ya next time USA. Unless you start to play miraculously I dont see you scoring two goals in the time thats left. :p

edit 2: Oh wow, or not. Where did that come from after all those failed assists. :D At least it is suddenly exciting.

GG, indeed

And we might just, wolfy ;)

First, apparently though, we have to go see Argentina about a ball :coffee:

Belgium stands a very good chance, imo. Argentina hasn't shown much yet. Although how many shots on goal from belgians this game? They'll need to score more chances than today if they want to keep advancing. :p

I'm actually more worried the Netherlands wont beat Costa Rica. With De Jong injured and unable to play, our already fairly weak defense is pretty much in shambles. Sure we got awesome strikers but, the costa ricans played fiercely so far. Not a style I think our team is suited to deal with at the moment.. For the same reason I believe is why we had trouble with the Aussies as well.

I would have prefered to see the dutch play the much more docile Argentina to be honest. :p

Yeah, I dunno what was up with that - it's like they somehow dismissed the keeper as an obstacle in their path and got caught off guard by him every time.

Well, no team so far has really been shining in this world cup, so anything is possible. :D

That was a really exciting game! For a little while there near the end I thought we might bring it back. But it was not to be. Good game, waffle peeps.

How odd that at group stages (in a few groups) nothing was predictable - a lot of giants got eliminated - but in the round of 16 all teams expected to won?

Yeah I don't think it has ever happened that all 8 group winners qualify for the quarter finals.

I didn't notice that they were the group winners.

That's wonderful. The best of the best.
