A couple of my favorites are from the 1950s
Giant (rock Hudson and elizabeth Taylor are fantastic in this)
the barefoot contessa (Ava Gardner is breathtaking)
South Pacific "im gonna wash that man right out of my hair" is one of my breakup songs lol
the outfits are fabulous and the acting at that time is just so superb.

My favorite movie from this period is Island of Lost Souls. I also love Maya Deren's short film Meshes of the Afternoon.
