Also, omg,I watched KIDS incorporated so innocently. ..was Martika like Miley Cyrus? Only Eminem, who is ten years older than me, really knows, cuz he sampled her song.

Can I just add that that's manipulation? I love Eminem, I know Gen X was duped. Just like Gen Y...but if I'm 18 and he knew I listened to this song in elementary school, what exactly was he doing as a 25-30 year old man?

He's 43 now, but was easily 30 - when this song debuted. He knew it manipulated people. Just like Kanye West Through the Wire, even though he's more my age.

They did it to manipulate you, like Family Guy, and Ted.

I used to complain about sampling, to my ex. Now I know why, even though Through the Wire is undoubtedly one the most powerful songs I've ever heard.

Only Tupac did it correctly. No one wants to hear that, but he did it not only musically superior, but on a song about actual racism. No one touches Tupac. It's why he died, or pretended to.

I dunno, I think the best sampling was done in the east coast shit, but it's a matter of personal preference.

That said, Dre made good use of samples with the whole G Funk sound.
