What would Beethoven have thought of his work being sung with such enthusiasm on the other side of the world, 200 years after this death? Although, the Japanese seem to have this strange idea that it's a Christmas song...

I love this song. One of my classmates in a previous class did a presentation on a poet who walked out into the sea and was never seen again (can't remember her name for the life of me!!) and this song is what I imagine her backstory to be.
