I've been re-visiting some of the Christian metal that I haven't listened to in several years. Here are a few examples from two of the ones I've been listening to first: Sympathy (Suffocation-influenced brutal technical death metal with classical/symphonic parts) and Crimson Moonlight (black/death in the vein of mid-era Emperor and Dimmu Borgir).
Entire categories of music aren't "good" or "bad", but there are technically skillful and intensely expressive examples of pieces in every genre. I'd be curious to see more examples of the best in this genre.
We are trained to like or dislike entire genres, which has always seemed problematic to me.
