I think it looks a little too childish. I mean, I know The Hobbit was essentially a children's book, but so was Harry Potter, and the latter managed to be effectively dark and edgy. From what I see in this trailer, it's just corny.
And Gollum really does look CG now. I hope that is an unfinished rendering, because I will be very disappointed otherwise to see what was the apex of CGI technology back in 2002 and 2003 be reduced to another CG cartoon. That was 10 years ago, and this Gollum looks like a CG character that came out 10 years before the LOTR trilogy, which would pretty much put him in the category of the Jumanji monkeys.
