I like the whole Merlin/Arthur thing.

I have about 50 pages left of Iain Banks' Against a Dark Background, then am going to start either his book Matter, or else Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum. Actually as I type this I think I'll go for Eco, as I haven't read anything by him before and I suspect I'm really going to like him.

I just finished reading a book I got for my birthday: The Cat That Went To Paris by Peter Gethers. I liked it.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

Got lots of books for my b/d. Just finished: The Divided Kingdom by Rupert Thompson.
Sometimes funny. Occasionally brilliant. Often disturbing. I read it in one sitting and it's a long time since I've been absorbed enough by anything to do that. His vision of a dystopian choleric Britain has a horribly familiar feel.
